ABOUT

We are a group of cultural workers who entered lockdown not knowing how we'd survive on our meagre wages and we had an urge to open the door for others like us, across the country to talk about their lockdown experience.

At the best of times, workers on precarious contracts can feel very powerless and voiceless but in lockdown, it became important to actively tease out these voices rarely heard or represented.

On top of that, a lot of people who work in museums, galleries and music halls are also very creative but we hardly ever have a chance to showcase our skills and our lived experience.

Elspeth Walker

Elspeth Walker is a freelance arts and culture writer, alongside working as a host in an art gallery. When not working she spends most of her time curling up with a coffee whilst reading a zine or book, writing or immersing herself in as much art as possible. Her passions lie in opening up accessibility in the arts, looking at its ability for social change, and refocusing art history on those often left out of text books.
