What is the Lockdown e-zine?
The Lockdown Zine aims to empower all cultural sector workers whose voices are underrepresented in current discourse.
The platform is collaborative and open to allies as well as critical friends who share the same concerns, it aims to reflect the diversity of lives experienced in our social distancing times.

Editor's Letter: Issue 1
Welcome to the first issue of the Lockdown Zine.

The last six months have been relentlessly volatile and unsettling for everyone, but Covid-19 has revealed some deep-rooted inequalities that have exposed the Culture sector for its hypocrisy.
In this edition, we have wanted to give a voice to the precariously employed art workers: front of house, security guards, shop/cafe assistants, cleaners, all these staff who are the welcoming customer-facing army of smiles behind customer service in the cultural sector...
Exploring the inside effects during this time LOCKED IN is where artists contemplate what it has meant to be kept closed in. From personal introspection to the re-understanding of space, these artworks dive into the INSIDE...
Despite being told to keep away from the physical outside, and being contained within our mental states, coming out or being forcibly pushed out of the inside, has lead to the creation of work that explored the LOCKED OUT.
